Background: RNase7 exhibits a potent RNase activity. Recombinant RNase 7 exhibited antimicrobial activity against uropathogens at low micromolar concentrations by disrupting the microbial membrane (Spencer et al. 2013). Has broadspectrum antimicrobial activity against many pathogenic microorganisms and remarkably potent activity against a vancomycin resistant Enterococcus faecium.
