M4 AChR ELISA Kit
The M4 Acetylcholine Receptor (M4 AChR) ELISA Kit is designed to detect and quantify antibodies against the M4 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (M4 AChR), a G-protein–coupled receptor primarily expressed in the central nervous system, particularly in the striatum and cortex. M4 AChR plays a critical role in modulating dopaminergic signaling, motor control, and cognitive function. Autoantibodies targeting M4 AChR have been linked to neurological disorders, autoimmune-mediated movement abnormalities, and certain neuropsychiatric conditions, making their measurement valuable for research into immune-mediated neuronal dysfunction.
In this ELISA assay, microplate wells are coated with recombinant or synthetic M4 AChR antigens to selectively capture M4 AChR–specific antibodies from serum, plasma, or other biological samples. After antigen–antibody binding, an enzyme-linked secondary antibody produces a colorimetric signal proportional to the concentration of the target antibodies. This provides a sensitive, specific, and reproducible method for detecting and quantifying receptor-targeting antibodies.
Applications of the M4 AChR ELISA Kit include studying autoimmune and neuroimmune mechanisms in movement disorders, evaluating antibody responses in experimental models of neurological disease, and investigating cholinergic modulation of cognitive and motor pathways. Measuring these antibodies helps provide insights into disease mechanisms, receptor-mediated immune effects, and potential therapeutic interventions targeting the cholinergic system.
This M4 AChR ELISA Kit is manufactured in Germany by CellTrend GmbH.
