The NT-proANP ELISA Kit is a quantitative sandwich immunoassay for measuring N-terminal proatrial natriuretic peptide (NT-proANP 1–98), the inactive fragment of the ANP prohormone. ANP is produced by the heart and released in response to atrial stretching, helping regulate blood pressure and fluid balance. NT-proANP circulates in equimolar amounts with active ANP but is more stable and easier to detect due to its longer half-life.
This assay uses specific antibodies targeting NT-proANP regions (AA 1–30 and AA 79–98) to ensure high accuracy and sensitivity. It is suitable for serum, plasma, urine, and cell culture samples and has been validated for both human and rat models. NT-proANP serves as a valuable biomarker for cardiac stress and heart-related conditions such as heart failure and myocardial infarction.
