Rabbit polyclonal antibody to IGFBP-5, raised against a 15–amino acid peptide from the central domain upstream of the thyroglobulin-type 1 domain. Specific for IGFBP-5 with no cross-reactivity to IGFBP-1–4, IGFBP-6, or related proteins. Detects human IGFBP-5 and is expected to recognise IGFBP-5 in several other species. Purified by Protein A chromatography. Suitable for immunoassay, blotting, and histochemistry. This product is for research use only and not to be used in diagnostic procedures.

This IGFBP-5 antibody was prepared by immunising rabbits with a 15 amino acid peptide derived from the central domain of human IGFBP-5, immediately upstream from the thyroglobulin-type 1 domain, linked to diphtheria toxoid. The peptide sequence is unique to IGFBP-5. The antibody recognises IGFBP-5 but not IGFBP-1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or related proteins. Although the sequence is derived from human IGFBP-5, the antibody does recognise IGFBP-5 from several species, although this should be experimentally determined. The immunoglobulin fraction was purified by Protein A affinity chromatography. The antibody is suitable for use in immunoassay, immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry.
