The Thrombin Receptor II (PAR2) Antibody ELISA Kit is designed to detect and quantify antibodies against Protease-Activated Receptor 2 (PAR2), a G-protein–coupled receptor activated by serine proteases such as trypsin, tryptase, and certain coagulation-related enzymes. PAR2 is widely expressed in epithelial, endothelial, immune, and neuronal tissues and plays a key role in inflammation, pain signaling, vascular responses, and tissue repair. Because PAR2 dysregulation is implicated in inflammatory diseases, gastrointestinal disorders, chronic pain, and allergic responses, antibodies directed toward PAR2 serve as important biomarkers for studying immune-mediated modulation of this signaling pathway.
In this ELISA assay, microplate wells are coated with recombinant or synthetic PAR2 antigens to specifically capture PAR2-targeting antibodies from serum, plasma, or other biological samples. Following antigen–antibody binding, an enzyme-linked secondary antibody produces a measurable colorimetric signal proportional to the concentration of anti-PAR2 antibodies present in the sample. This method provides a sensitive, specific, and reproducible platform for assessing antibodies that interact with PAR2.
Applications of the Thrombin Receptor II (PAR2) Antibody ELISA Kit include investigating autoimmune or inflammatory mechanisms involving PAR2, studying antibody-mediated modulation in models of pain, allergy, or gastrointestinal inflammation, and evaluating immune responses to PAR2-targeted therapeutics. Measuring these antibodies helps advance understanding of PAR2’s role in immune signaling, disease progression, and potential therapeutic intervention strategies.
