Anti-MPO (Myeloperoxidase) ELISA Kit (Formerly AMO31-K01)

$625.00

The Anti-MPO (Myeloperoxidase) ELISA quantitatively detects antibodies directed against MPO, an enzyme found in neutrophil granules. These antibodies are clinically significant as they are closely associated with ANCA-associated vasculitides, such as microscopic polyangiitis. The assay is used to support diagnosis, monitor disease activity, and track treatment response in autoimmune vasculitis. This ELISA kit is for research use only and should not be used in diagnostic procedures.

Anti-Myeloperoxidase (MPO) antibodies are autoantibodies directed against myeloperoxidase, an enzyme found in the azurophilic granules of neutrophils that plays a role in microbial killing through the production of reactive oxygen species. The presence of anti-MPO antibodies is closely associated with certain autoimmune conditions, particularly a subset of small-vessel vasculitis known as ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), which includes microscopic polyangiitis and renal-limited vasculitis. Detection of these antibodies provides insight into immune dysregulation and neutrophil-mediated tissue damage, making them important biomarkers for both research and clinical investigation.
Anti-MPO ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) enables quantitative measurement of these autoantibodies in serum or plasma. In research settings, the assay is used to study autoimmune mechanisms, the pathogenesis of vasculitis, and the role of neutrophil activation in inflammatory diseases. It also allows researchers to evaluate the effects of novel immunomodulatory therapies and to explore correlations between anti-MPO levels and disease severity or progression.
Clinically, anti-MPO ELISA is widely employed for the diagnosis, monitoring, and prognosis of ANCA-associated vasculitis. It aids in distinguishing between different forms of vasculitis and can help predict disease relapse or remission when measured over time. In combination with clinical evaluation and other laboratory markers, anti-MPO testing informs treatment decisions, guides immunosuppressive therapy, and supports patient management in both acute and chronic phases of autoimmune disease.
