Hamster CHO GSTp ELISA Kit

$1,510.00

The Hamster (CHO) Glutathione S-Transferase Pi (GSTp) ELISA Kit is a highly sensitive two-site enzyme linked immunoassay (ELISA) for measuring GSTp in Hamster (CHO) biological samples. The Hamster (CHO) Glutathione S-Transferase Pi (GSTp) ELISA Kit is for research use only and not to be used for diagnostic procedures.

SKU: GTP91-K01 Category:

Glutathione S-transferase Pi (GST-Pi) is a member of the GST enzyme family, which plays a key role in cellular detoxification by catalyzing the conjugation of glutathione to a wide range of electrophilic compounds. In the Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell system, GST-Pi functions as an important phase II detoxification enzyme, protecting cells from oxidative stress and xenobiotic-induced damage. Its expression in CHO cells provides a useful model for studying the regulation, structure, and enzymatic activity of mammalian GSTs, as well as their role in cellular defense mechanisms and drug metabolism.

Research and Clinical Uses:
In research, CHO-derived GST-Pi serves as a valuable biomarker and tool for studying enzyme kinetics, protein engineering, and cytoprotective responses to toxic agents. It is often used to evaluate the effects of environmental stressors, chemotherapeutic drugs, and genetic modifications on detoxification pathways. Additionally, recombinant CHO cell lines expressing GST-Pi are employed in biopharmaceutical production to improve cell viability under stressful culture conditions. Clinically, GST-Pi expression is a well-established biomarker of tumor progression and chemoresistance in various human cancers, including breast, lung, and colorectal cancers. Studies using CHO GST-Pi provide insights into the enzyme’s structural and functional mechanisms that can be translated into diagnostic, prognostic, and therapeutic strategies targeting GST-mediated drug resistance.
